Prayer Ministry

We take the ministry of prayer seriously at First United Methodist Church.

We believe that all members are called to be involved in the ministry of prayer.

Below are specific ways that the ministry of prayer is offered at our church.

Make a Prayer Request

Prayer request cards are available in the narthex outside the doors of the sanctuary.

Fill out a Prayer Request form, so that we can pray more effectively for your request.

You may also request prayer by e-mail or by calling the church office at 318-640-1050.

Where does my prayer request go?

When a prayer request is received by the church office, confidential requests go to the pastors only.

All other requests go to our intercessory prayer groups, pastors, and church staff who pray over the concerns.

Church members and those requested are also listed in the weekly bulletin so that others can pray for them.

Please note: Due to privacy concerns, requests can only be printed if they are made by the person named

or by a member of their immediate household.

Prayer and Anointing Before Surgery

Pastors are available to pray with you and your family before surgery or during hospitalization.

Please contact the church office at 318-640-1050 with the date, time,

and hospital where you will be having your surgery.

Due to HIPPA regulations, the hospital will not call and inform the church

of your hospitalization.
